A local guide from the Gonz Collision team, because “people who care” means caring about the town, not just the fender.
If you’ve ever waited on a repair estimate wondering how to kill an afternoon, or you’re just looking for something to do with the family that doesn’t involve a screen, we’ve got you covered. Gonz Collision has been fixing cars in this community since 1979, long enough to know every good burger joint, every retro diner, and every spot where gearheads hang out even when nothing’s broken. Here are three local favorites worth the short drive, all within a few miles of our shop.
2003 10th Ave N, Lake Worth Beach, FL 33461 · (561) 547-0817 · fundepot.com

If your idea of a good time involves a green flag, Fun Depot is the closest thing to a personal speedway in Lake Worth. Racers 54″ and taller can hit the half-mile go-kart track solo, while shorter riders can pair up on the double-karts. Between races, there’s laser tag, a full arcade running everything from old-school cabinets to VR, a prize center, and Cordial Alley’s bowling lanes for when your legs need a break. It’s an indoor, weather-proof way to spend a few hours, and if you’re a parent shuttling kids to and from the shop while your car’s in for repairs, it’s five minutes away and open late most nights.
5101 S Dixie Hwy, West Palm Beach, FL 33405 · (561) 586-3189

Head a few minutes south down Dixie Highway, practically walking distance from our shop’s stretch of US-1, and you’ll find a brewpub that doubles as a museum. The owners have spent decades collecting Americana, and it shows: guitars, lunch boxes, retro signage, and vintage curiosities cover nearly every inch of wall and ceiling space. Pull up a stool for one of roughly 30 rotating craft beers, most brewed in-house, and order the beer cheese dip with pretzel bites while you take it all in. It’s the kind of place where you came for a burger and stayed an extra hour reading the walls.
3400 S Dixie Hwy, West Palm Beach, FL 33405 · (561) 659-6776 · mycitydiner.com

Just down the road from Dixie Grill sits City Diner, a family-run counter-and-booth spot that leans all the way into its retro theme: checkerboard touches, wall-to-wall vintage signage, and a model train that circles near the ceiling while you eat. It’s the kind of throwback roadside stop that feels like it belongs on a postcard from the golden age of American driving, right down to the location on old US-1. Go for the classic breakfast plates, the meatloaf, or the reportedly unbeatable apple pie, and bring a little patience, since the parking lot is as small and old-school as the rest of the place.
Because collision repair isn’t just about the car, it’s about getting you back to the life you were living before the accident, as fast and painlessly as possible. That includes the small stuff: knowing where to grab a good meal while you wait, or where to take the kids so an inconvenient week doesn’t feel like a lost one. We’ve been part of this community since 1979, and we like sharing the parts of it we love.
